Biosketch My research interests are focused on developing methods and algorithms for the analysis of brain connectivity with applications to optical and biomedical imaging. I joined the Optical Bioimaging Lab led by Dr. Luca Pollonini at the University of Houston aimed to develop methods for interrogating the functional brain activity in specific conditions employing near-infrared spectroscopy for the non-invasive, non-harmful, measurement of oxygen metabolism and hemodynamics of human tissues in-vivo, including brain cortex and skeletal muscles. In addition to brain connectivity training, my expertise covers the application of machine learning techniques such as neural networks and evolutionary algorithms for optimization, and advanced techniques in Artificial Intelligence, mostly in Causal inference algorithms.
