Biosketch Jerico Marquez is an incoming sophomore at Pearland High School, where he has developed a strong interest in math and science. He is passionate about problem-solving and enjoys exploring how scientific principles apply to real-world challenges. His curiosity and enthusiasm for STEM subjects have led him to seek opportunities that expand his academic horizons and deepen his understanding of the world around him. Jerico is thrilled to be participating in the IUCRC BRAIN REM Program, where he looks forward to gaining hands-on experience in the field of neuroscience. He is especially excited to learn about how research in brain science can be used to help people, and he is grateful for the opportunity to work alongside mentors and fellow students who share his passion. In addition to his academic interests, Jerico is musically talented and is a dedicated member of the symphonic band at his high school, where he plays the trumpet. Outside of school, Jerico enjoys staying active and spending time with friends and family. One of his favorite hobbies is playing pickleball. Looking ahead, Jerico plans to pursue a college degree in a STEM-related field. He is eager to continue learning, growing, and one day using his skills to help solve real-world problems through science and innovation.
