Biosketch Luca Cohen, a native Houstonian, is a rising sophomore at the Colorado School of Mines. He is interested in bioengineering and looking forward to exploring the intersection between engineering and neuroscience. Luca is excited to be a part of the REU program at the University of Houston. In the past, Luca has worked in several laboratories including at the University of Toronto and at MD Anderson Cancer Center. During a gap year before college, Luca spent his first semester traveling through Bolivia and Peru learning Spanish and trekking through the Andes. He spent the second semester in Italy, learning Italian. In his free time, Luca enjoys cooking, hiking, biking, skiing, soccer, and just about anything outdoors.
