Major Electrical Engineer and Computer Engineer
Expected Graduation Date Spring 2021
Post-Graduate Plans Upon graduating as an Electrical Engineer, I intend to attend graduate school. During graduate school I plan on studying brain signals in order to translate them and implement those signals to robots. In short words, I plan to research rehabilitation robotics. Aside from academia, I plan to invest time on low income community students in order to guide and motivate these students to envision a STEM degree.
Biosketch During the time at my home institution, I have participated in two research projects. The first project consisted on designing an autonomous driving cart in order to guide visitors around campus. The second project that I have worked on consisted on determining the efficiency of three different batteries and finding ways to improve their lifespan. Finally, the project that motivated me into rehabilitation robotics was a project conducted at Stanford University. During my time at Stanford, I worked on a walking stick for the visually impaired that implements the use of a microcontroller as well as sensors to safely guide an individual to their destination. Thus, I became interested in understanding the brain as well as robots to facilitated the life of people with physical hardships.
