Biosketch Ishanel Martinez Rondon, an incoming freshman at Rice University, recently earned her associates at San Jacinto College as a dual-enrolled student. Highly active in her FIRST robotics team and Interact, a community service organization, she is committed to bridging technical innovation with social impact. In the past, she has developed a mobile app concerning mental health awareness and conducted Protein Engineering research last summer. With aspirations of earning a PhD in Robotics, she wants to specialize in Machine Learning. Beyond the lab, she finds enjoyment in arts and crafts, as well as tennis, exploring new hobbies, and volunteering.
